The Dinosaur Ball
Based on the success of last year’s lantern festival, in 2024–2025, my client decided to organize Le festival Dragons et lanternes again. When we started designing the event, my client said, “Jardin d’Acclimatation is a paradise for children, so let’s make it dinosaur-themed.” In fact, this lantern festival is also a gift from my client to her child. Her son is three years old and loves dinosaurs, and all the inspiration for the dinosaur selection came from the bedtime stories she tells him. This is a dinosaur ball, a design and plan made by a mother out of love for her son.
Calling all budding paleontologists and lovers of magical outings – After dazzling more than 165,000 visitors in 2023 with its magical Shanghai lanterns, the Dragons and Lanterns Festival is passing the torch… to the dinosaurs! From November 29, 2024 to March 2, 2025, these legendary creatures will storm the pathways of the Jardin d’Acclimatation, right in time for the holiday season and year-end lights. A winning combo for a winter that’s both enchanting and… prehistoric. Across 6 hectares of sparkling pathways, 100 dinosaurs come back to life under the stars through 2,000 lanterns, transforming the Parisian amusement park into a true journey through time! Ferocious tyrannosaurs, agile velociraptors, giant triceratops and diplodocus… 40 species from the Mesozoic era are brought to life in 24 luminous scenes: a mother protecting her young, a breathless hunt, or even an epic battle. But beware! Some specimens may well try to snap up a curious visitor or two along the way. Building on the success of the previous edition, my client decided to bring back the Dragons and Lanterns Festival for the 2024–2025 season. During the initial design phase, she declared: “Since the Jardin d’Acclimatation is a paradise for children, why not go with a dinosaur theme?” In truth, this festival is also a gift to her three-year-old son, a dinosaur enthusiast. Every prehistoric creature is inspired by the bedtime stories she tells him. More than just a Dinosaur Ball, it is a creation infused with motherly love.
